On Friday, July 2 an exclusive concert in Riga will be given by one of the Europe’s extreme music forefathers from Sweden - Roger Karmanik, also known as - BRIGHTER DEATH NOW – the man behind one of the most influential independent music label in Europe - Cold Meat Industry.

Roger Karmanik’s approx. 30 years’ musical experience began in 1980’s by engaging in post industrial project Enhänta Bödlar, as well as solo projects Bomb The Daynursery and Lille Roger. The latter two displaying the later on so characteristic subjects as death, obsession, psychosis, crime, porn – mixed in one ponging string wrapped in an apathetic veil of black humor.

B.D.N. music’s most appropriate designation could be ‘death industrial’. It contains heavy and downpitched ambient vibrations, accompanied with infernal analogue synth yells, stunning methodical necro-pulse, thematic samples and industrial rattle, clanks and clashes, overwhelmed by modulating whitenoise and provocative clamour.

From leaden ambient to power electronics, B.D.N. undoubtably is one of the darkest icons of post-industrial and contemporary music in general. Roger Karmanik is a master in creation of gruesome and hair-raising frequences, who strictly follows the old-school industrial and underground electronics techniques in sound-creation and holds to his manic-nichilist scenic image. This controversial musical personage is fittingly characterized on the internet as a brat-little girl, who in a drop of a hat can emulate into a maniac killer.

Bloodbath, tragicomedy, sperm squirting, family tv shows and commercial melodies of consumer goods of 70’s – wirling intoxicant of Brighter Death Now, demanded, wanted and enjoyed so far by many, now shall pour upon your faces, jackets and dresses in Riga.

The other guest of the night will be JanaDark from Moscow, an internationally known DJ, and her tribal/ rhythmic noise project Darkrad. JanaDark has participated in festivals Forms of Hands, Machinenfest, and Wave Gothic Treffen, as well as organizes and promotes Russian industrial scene with regular TanzFront events and online Radio Dark.

Darkrad is a heavy rhythm-industrial synthesis with tribal and experimental elements, with exclusive improviation sollutions in each concert. Jana has shared stage with such well-known projects as Brighter Death Now, IRM, Allerseelen, Mono No Aware, Mimetic, Cervello Electronico, Noisuf-X, This Morn’ Omina, P.A.L., and performed together with Empusae.

 As the night warm-up is intended a performance of Latvian underground electronics enigma – Toms Šiklovs with his project Psihodezinfekcija. Toms’ activities don’t dissolate, they stretch from ambient to harsh noise, from musique concrete till dub and breakcore, within his numerous projects as Ballet Rachitis, Bērnu Rīts, Stalkspace (with Antitreality), Zemnieks un Kosmoss (with Tesa bassist) and Mega.

Metaphysics, anarchy, consciousness’ jihad, chaos and verities, audio exorcism. Psihodezinfekcija is a deeply personal project, that will perform at the event with a program of atmospheric noise/ death ambient. The live act will be enhanced by a performance of Posts, who are well known in local industial and performance scene as Tarchokk, an impressive dark ambient and experimental explorer and Zyrnys, an expressive individual who has created deep trace in Latvian underground art with his shocking performances. Zyrnys is also known for his participation in projects Posts, V.S.K.B., Spararats and Barodarho.

Night’s systematic rhythm-tectonics will be hosted by JanaDark [Ru], and a cold industrial dinner will be served by Pacients, SKD and Svetlana.
